Some offices will hold tenants responsible for their items (like smoke detectors were there on move in but magically they are not there on the yearly, clearly a tenant issue) but generally speaking they hold the owner responsible no matter who actually caused the problem.

Seems like she knows how to play the system pretty well and I have taken her to court and she missed court date twice but she filed motion to set aside judgement and judge just issued her with another 30days for a different hearing.

Hopefully I'm not too naïve to think we can vet the renters, put specific family and neighbor friendly language in our listings, and put protections in place (noise detectors, people counters, etc.) to shutdown problem renters immediately.
