A lot of lake/cabin type of areas are also close to snow mobiling, skiing, ice fishing, etc.Either way, I would definitely recommend putting a small heater in the crawl space where you are worried.

Your lease doesn't say you provide x brand of ice box, so get one that fits into the cabinet space and call it a day.
