Plus I was willing to smack the visitors, if I was in the mood to encounter the ugly things (some nights I wasn't up to do battle.) 

Found a property, made offer and my first obstacle I encountered was when I checked online my credit score was 752, I thought good to go.

These are people who encounter real estate all the time and might be good sources of off-market deals.
