It seems from what I have been reading in regards to ADUs, the appraisers / LA market has not giving it the value it caution air quotes " deserves

It's still up in the air what I find out about the inside of the property if I switch management companies...this could end up being worse.I saw people on here asking for a detailed explanation of any dealings with this company, so I hope this helps. 

It must meet the requirements per the building code IRC (I think Massachusetts follows a modified version of the IRC) you must provide the required amount of light, air/ vent, and egress.

Plus they need to be dual fire and carbon monoxide if by flammables like fireplaces, gas stoves etc.

Keeping the power on is important for many reasons, but especially in the Summer to keep the house air conditioned.
