Are there any other finance solutions that you know of that I should look into that would complement this strategy?

I'm no expert, but the the way I look at it now is that I'm gaining experience to complement all the knowledge I've gained over the past several months, earning a little extra passive income on the side, meeting people, and getting comfortable with being in the driver's seat so that I can see the opportunities ahead that will allow me to leverage my wife and I beyond the entry stage.

You can seek a "cash rich" partner that complements you as far as physical skill goes depending if they want to do anything besides contribute money.

I want to complement Jeff for his patience, and undying motivation in providing video walk-troughs for prospective properties, generating clear/professional estimates for rehab, and relaying his knowledge of quality neighborhoods in which I should invest. 

Also, you'll both need to bring different sets of skills and experience to the table to complement each other which makes a successful partnership.

Legally, business purpose loans as these are pretty straightforward.If you are talking about making second position real estate loans for personal, family, or household use (HELOCS for example), which many above seem to be addressing, then DF, the Safe Act, RESPA, TILA, and everything else applies and you'll need the full complement of Broker, MLO, and NMLS licensing.

Just do stuff that complements each other.  

That could be a big challenge. after you have decided what you want to do and the area you will work in it may be time to make your goals and the complementing plan to go by.
