A friend of mine, one of my former Soldiers, is currently a realtor there, and has been sending me listings, around the top suburbs of the Dallas/Fort Worth metropolitan area.  

Ft Hood is a very large Army post that has the capability to operate with a large fluctuation of soldiers.  

Seems that he is currently a soldier stationed not far away.

I am a fellow Soldier myself and looking to break into the business. 

I also don't think many soldiers would be commuting from Lampasas for early morning PT.

I just sold a 1850 house that had new 200 amp service, new gas furnace, new gas hot water heater, new kitchen gutted to the studs, 2.5 baths, newly refinished hardwood floors and other updates.From the outside it looked the same as it did before the rehab.We've had other houses, one of which Civil War Soldiers marched by, and old is not necessarily bad. 

Common sense tells me that the rent should be a little bit higher in these apartments which are close to a big army post where even the lowest ranking soldiers make about $1100/mo for housing allowance.
