Please Take Action NOW - Rent Control bill scheduled for a committee hearing on WednesdayHouse Bill 255 (Guzzardi) is the first of four pieces of legislation introduced thus far this legislative session that would repeal the Rent Control Preemption Act (a 1997 Illinois REALTORS® initiative which prohibits local governments from enacting Rent Control) is scheduled for a hearing in the House Judiciary - Civil Law Committee on Wednesday.

The bill needs 11 votes to get out of committee and got 10 votes on Monday. 

It is not expected to even make it out of Committee let alone get to a Floor vote.

I am a part of the Orange County Association of Realtors Professional Standards Committee and hear arbitrations and disputes like this all the time.

This will be further discussed at the next committee of the whole meeting.

They tend to stick with a process versus smaller banks where you can get a decisions maker and the committee to act faster. 

Because of that, investment committees are more willing to allow a NPN to sit around waiting for the right bidder with the right number.

The planning committee recommended that my variance request be denied.
