My point was, it appears, based on anecdotal evidence (which is the same evidence you provided), that the PM industry, has at a minimum, a perception problem. 

How do jobs, and wages, and corporate perception playing a role?

Most ppl who buy these products are educated upper middle class or higher so they are either much more sophisticated (or should be) or have access to folks like RIA's CPA's CFP's etc because they get it!

Thats the issue.. and of course as you state we are all out there trying to score real estate deals.. so most folks that would sit down with a civilian seller IE not sophisticated in the least are not going to point out all the RISK factors for them. they are just going to talk about the blue sky this is great for them factors.

The perception and judgmental impacts are too high.

Why does everyone act like people at this level don’t have the sophistication to have multiple exit plans??

As my mother says perception is 100% reality.

Engineering requires a combination of technical sophistication and creativity.

The perception as some World of Warcraft brokerage is hilarious.

And I think the perception that using TK does not make you an investor is unfortunate.
