When I was working on the Oil Tankers, I taught myself to Invest in Mutual Funds and made the $100K that I used to buy my Rentals in S.

With that said, my transportation home to NJ is limited and my time to market is also limited, however, I am determined to get this to work like a well oiled machine.Now with that said, I'm trying to formulate a good marketing strategy for myself. 

If something is wrong with the property, dog digging a hole, oil stains by a car, cleanliness, additional squatters, etc.

The business didn't work out due to the current market condition (oil price drop...).

I have been employed in the oil and gas industry for the past 15 years and I'm currently stationed and writing from Angola, West Africa, and I feel like now is the right time to transition to REI.I have tried to educate myself as much as possible for the past couple of years on everything REI (fix n flip, fix n rent, wholesaling etc..)and continue doing so today.I have never done a flip before and I am hoping to network and meet someone locally that is willing to Partner/Mentor with me for my first flip.

However, with the state budget/deficit and lack of oil funding, it will be interesting to see what the future holds.

If the finish is the really cheap kind, and I think it is, then it will absorb dirt and oils, etc and look worn pretty soon.

Linoleum is quite different than vinyl:  first it is not a petroleum product, but is made from entirely renewable components (linseed oil, pine rosin, wood flour, cork, gypsum); it is naturally antimicrobial {one reason it is used extensively in places such as hospitals, day cares, nursing homes, etc.} and it is quite durable. 

A hard wax oil like Odie’s Oil is a good option or a commercial grade waterbased finish like Loba Supra.

I provide a fantastic location and all the comforts of home - e.g. smart TV, fully stocked kitchen (with some cooking basics like oils and coffee).Anything "extra" I provide is inherent to the location - one house is on a river, one has a view, one is super private but also close to town.
