And I realize how important it is to "slam every nickle" into the mortgage because when I used one of those mortgage calculators, adding an additional 100-200 dollars makes a HUGE difference in the amount of interest you would pay out for the life of the loan.

My comment to them was, I use my money to make more money and don't buy things I don't need or can't resell for a profit.Don't get me wrong, I have fun and enjoy life, but I always try to find a way to have someone else pay for the things I want!

Your age would make me caution you again before spending anything without having many 2nd and 3rd opinions from people with more experience in RE and more life experience to help evaluate and double check any purchases.
