Get a carfax and take it to a AAA auto body place and have them do their 100+ point inspection to find out if they are hiding any issues and what costs may arise with the car. 

We are a Great Lakes State, surrounded by the biggest fresh water bodies of water on earth...and a hearty population, we will be OK!
