Also would a policy with another company be covered under our current umbrella policy with Allstate?

Owning outright can invite lawsuits so if I own outright I need other protections like an umbrella policy or LLC owning LLC.

I was told two units are not really worth an LLC, but rather up my personal umbrella until I get 4 units then switch to a commercial umbrella policy... thoughts? 

Just take out an umbrella policy to provide some extra protection.

I am in a situation right now with USAA where they dropped my umbrella coverage because they consider my rentals as a commercial endeavor.  

. $500k for liability on each property and a million dollar umbrella policy.

Individually, umbrella or other?
