The homes we are looking at are about 45 minutes outside of Boston,  have universities and colleges, train stations, and are up and coming cities.

A common scenario involves a VA homeowner who has to relocate to a new duty station but wants to keep and rent out his or her primary residence.

Cash face to face .. really sucks , but lower income people often don’t have checking accounts or means to travel to a bank or a certified pay station .

It's been her primary residence for more than two of the last five years, but it has also been an investment property for the last year and a half while she's been stationed overseas.

I curious what the vacancy rate is in College Station / Bryan over the summer months and when things start filling up again?

I recently just came from Norfolk VA; and now stationed in California, MD.  

I currently have an older property in the lougheed area, but within walking distance from Lougheed Skytrain Station.

If you are only going to be stationed there for 2-3 years, why not rent a place that is close to work and that you will enjoy living in (within your BAH), and then invest somewhere else where you can have positive cash flow.
