I have 3 prospective tenants for my room rental in a SFR under this slow market (vacant for 4.5 mos): A sex offender when he was 17 but he’s 50 now (he told me about it only after I said I had to run a background check).

And there are certain felony convictions that are unlikely to have the state attempting to act on their behalf, such as sex offenders, violent assaults, etc, so you can probably feel free to reject those applicants if you'd like.

What the advertising rules are for senior housing isn't clear anywhere I have found.From HUD website:It is illegal for anyone to: Threaten, coerce, intimidate or interfere with anyone exercising a fair housing right or assisting others who exercise that right Advertise or make any statement that indicates a limitation or preference based on race, color, national origin, religion, sex, familial status, or handicap.

The only reason I can think of is to make the rich richer and the poor more oppressed and controlled.It's hilarious hearing people scream "LESS GOVERNEMENT" and then scream that we need more laws to restrict speech, drugs, sex, marriage, travel, etc.

Then we had two half way houses approved by the city (in a nice area) only to find it housed sex offenders etc.Now the city is filing lawsuits against the operators esp now that the crime rate in the n'hood went exponential & the over taxed neighbors revolted.
