if you put this off for too long you will be paying more in the long term by having to remove the existing and siding Exterior Siding(if you decided to go this way) - $8k+ depending on the house and local labor If you don't have the cash for the purchase, and you run into these expenses - and the repainting/flooring expenses that comes when people move out you are going to be barely scraping by.

The whole interior needs to be repainted and that's the other big issue, the owner was a 3 or 4 pack a day smoker and it sure smells like he wasn't big on opening any windows when he smoked either!

Using the same paint inside all units always makes it easy to repaint.

Ultimately I was thinking about (re)painting a section of a hallway closet in my flip the morning of the first open house.

The agent said a remediation company could do a chemical wash on the walls, and repaint because the results were not too high.  

That doesn't even cover repainting, small repairs, advertising, etc.

We are repainting the entire house (1400 hsqft) including the ceilings.

Some people buy a house, mow the lawn and spend $20 bucks for a gallon of paint to repaint the front of the house and then relist it at $10k or $20k more and sell it.
