You also should call your local zoning or permitting department to get information on areas you are interested in and how to be a legal STR.I 100% recommend making sure the STR could work as a LTR as well in case you have to pivot ever.

I have heard Boise was cracking down on permitting, so make sure you can meet all licensing requirements and that you are in an area zoned for this type of use.

They really do stand out in a neighborhood plus I doubt you could get permits to build in a established area.Much easy to build on a larger plot of land in the boonies, which is where I see most of these.In the end, once you get them looking nice, you could have done a stick built house or even a log cabin if you can harvest materials on your land for about the same or less.
