Keeping the first as a rental.

Another thing to add is the regulations, HOAs and Cities are imposing a lot of regulation on short-term rentals or rent by a room, I have seen some HOAs regulate the amount of people authorized to rent the property too.It requires to do a lot of due dilligence to begin with mainly in such big house. 

They are major BRRRR projects with the main exit strategy being to hold as medium term rentals.

Columbus is a great rental market and we have a ton of opportunities here.

Raleigh has strong rental demand due to its growing job market, universities, and overall population growth.

My goal is to achieve financial freedom through house hacking and long-term rental properties.

One challenge to manage is being able to clarify for lenders on those rentals (if you have them) which amount of the premium should be paid for each rental so that they do not include the entire premium into their escrow analysis, inflating your monthly payment on that rental.
