How do I go about finding those who'd rather just collect the insurance money then sell it off at a discount?  

That loan is being paid off by someone who checks the box on the conventional loan application that they will be occupying the property.

With the caveat that you have to pay off your VA loan (or use less than your total eligibility) to be able to use it again moving into another property. 

Also, providing value to others at a high level will pay off for you in the end if you stick with it.
