Regarding Calgary it feel in a weird gray area, I believe 8 rooms and more you can apply for a lodging license, and if you don't live at the property up to 3 bedrooms is allowed but between 4 and 7 is sort of an unfilled gap by regulations

Hello all,  I know this is a long shot, But I’m looking to see if any property owners on the North Shore, Oahu would be open to a “work for lodging” agreement.  

Important definitions include "use," "accessory use," "dwelling," "lodging house," "boarding house," and "family."

@Chris Hull and @Frank Lodge Quickbooks works fine for Real estate but you really need to set up everything properly form the start especially if you have multiple properties or you will make a huge mess to clean up.  

We go there 2x a year right now and spend about $1k a year on lodging that would be eliminated.Also, the 17k on the duplex is the newer higher rate, and thats about as high as it can go. 

Additional scrutiny is unavoidable because of the ability for anyone (even anonymously) to lodge a complaint with the state's regulating department, and the allegation will be investigated.

I can buy from the profit-pool, write off any business-related expenses ie travels to Orlando, Hawaii, Alaska, dinner, lodging ..

@Rich Lodge If you want a residential loan at residential rates/LTV, then you have to get the loan in your personal name.

Currently, we have a right to use deed in a resort that provides cabins as well as rooms in a lodge at the resort.It's located int the Smoky mountains in an absolutely beautiful area in NC.
