Not that Mormonism has the corner on goofy beliefs among religions.He equates his son's driving around Iowa in a Hummer campaigning for him to be the equivalent of our soldiers serving in Irag and Afghanistan.He laments his failure to serve in Viet-Nam, yet made sure his RELIGIOUS DEFERMENT was always intact so that he could do "missionary work" in France!

Check the BRAC for a local base (Base closure and Realignment Comission) ensure the base isn't getting closed.The soldiers and Sailors act allows a service member to get out of their lease (or any contract) upon receipt of orders.

Young soldiers are finding out that they can buy with no money down and pay a lower mortgage than rent, especially if they get a roommate.  

I realize all of the Rich Dad Poor Dad soldiers think this is dumb, but understand I might not be the traditional investor on here as my entrepreneurial efforts net me a substantial income and real estate is my hobby/retirement vehicle as I don't do a 401K/IRA, etc.

Meanwhile. we can party, go to ballgames, and live it up while our soldiers die for us to have those freedoms.

Its like an assembly line and in a city like Fort Bragg where there really is no recession because its Soldiers here its probably a great business.

Currently we live in Hawaii and I am an active duty Soldier, we have decided that investing in Hawaii is too much of a risk for us at the moment, but are looking at other markets that offer good value but also not a warzone.

Often times, you can find younger Soldiers (E5-E6 and O1-O3) that like to live together and split to rent to pocket more cash and would sacrifice the traffic noise for more coin in the pocket.
