So, if emergencies are the use-case concern, that is one option but also portable power stations which can be used at home, camping, tailgating, etc.

Ashley, if you are still a naval spouse, I would suggest the next time you are relocated that you consider buying a house via a VA loan wherever you end up stationed (excluding San Diego because it is too expensive) and do this every time you move.

We did something similar when we were stationed overseas with the military, and we bought a new duplex because we didn’t want to have maintenance issues while so far away.
