Ebooks, podcasts like @Bonnie Low suggested and start running numbers on every deal you see until you know how it all works.

I wouldn't start investing in the US if you have no plans on coming back from living in China.

Your strong foundation in the stock market and tech background positions you well for success in real estate investing.

If you have the sellers, the buyers will start reaching out - it likely wont work for some of them and then you can ask what they are looking for and build relationships that way.
