Not what you are seeing.A distressed single-family home in the $300-400K range in Austin is older than 1990 for sure (if not substantially older) and likely requires 40-50K+ in rehab to bring above $2,000/month in rent (or more precisely, to have the chance to do that, in an environment with 4-10% vacancy rate!).

*I understand the risk with the family dynamic, but legally and realistically, I'm wondering if this is feasible*I'd like to obtain a multifamily property and in my local market it just doesn't seem obtainable without a low-down payment.

I’ve been looking into multi family units and I wanted to know what tips someone should know before investing in one.

Im wondering if I'd have better luck making more money off of multi family elsewhere.can anyone tell me what markets they'd recommend for house hacking/ multi family and if Chicago is still a good choice? 

I'm interested in flipping single family properties and holding multi-family properties.
