I had a renter that rearranged all the furniture, left everything absolutely filthy, grease spilled all over the counters and oven, food spilled on the floors and table, trash left everywhere, etc.

First of all @Diana Teng, have you ever gone to a restaurant and asked "is the food here worth buying?". 

It was a very long drive. 18 hours in total on the open road, I would sleep in my car along the way and live off of gas station food.

Any way food for thought, good luck with whatever you decide to do!

So I am sure they don't want pesky DTR operators stealing their bed and food and alcohol revenue.

The only nice things in Elmira is the food at the dive bars.

Central Ave has a number of unique, local restaurants and drink spots (laundromat speakeasy with bottomless mimosas and Cuban food on Sundays).Good luck!
