Nightstands (you put them together), bed frames and headboards, mattresses (typically just queens - we buy better king mattresses locally), and lots of decor options just by doing a quick key word search for your location/style (for example I did a kid's room and furnished with these cool Smokey the Bear tin art works - about $30 each).

If you don't need to be fancy skip the fancy bed and just get a frame and wall headboard with nice coverings and lots of pillows.

One of the top branches on the tree snapped off from a gust of wind, and like a spear it went through the roof, and into her master bedroom, piercing the headboard of her bed and the pillow where she was sleeping.Needless to say, she moved out in fear, and since that day, we have cut down any trees in reach of any homes we own.

IKEA furniture is another story though, I also bought a couple of dressers and a bed frame and headboard, etc and that was barely above junk in my opinion!

Don't use heavy looking furniture, but light and airy pieces-  like an open airy headboard with no footboard (as opposed to solid wood with a footboard), mirrored side tables, a lucite chair, etc.
