Driving to work the other day I saw hand made signs for anyone interested in real estate investing.

After I picked my jaw up off the floor, I made my way over to one of the two major home improvement stores to see if we could get it done more economically there.As it turned out, the store was able to get us great cabinets at about a third of the cost of hand-made ones.

One of my properties I have amazing tenants; granted I do many nice things for them in return but they are amazing nonetheless.As an example they gave us a hand made gift basket for Christmas with candles, body lotions, wine, etc that they made.

Were doing nearly all the renovations on our own, including handmade home decor too!

Working on a friends home & they had this island hand made & it was just delivered.

Every review of my listing cites the decor and uniqueness of our property, which is tiki themed.Mine isn’t crazy, but my wife built a 10’ tall plant wall, we have dozens of tiki masks everywhere, fake birds in cages, a diving helmet, vintage pieces, handmade art, and every room is tied to the theme of the property.on the flip side, in my super competitive STR market, I see a lot of future listings hitting the MLS because they aren’t adapting to changes in the market, and the changing demographics of who is visiting.

I saw a handmade "for rent" sign and called the owner.

I own a handmade jewelry business so my accountant advised me that I have very little risk and no assets at this point to protect through an LLC or other entity form.

They are a little more expensive to work on, because everything is custom and hand made, plaster instead of drywall etc.

So for me , especially starting out, paying little bit more but having more cash in hand made sense.
