They will be more focused on finding a buyer for a deal vs what date the DD ends and EMD is owed to the seller and most likely not be cancelling the contract or extending the DD to protect the lenders EMD funds.

From my research, it seems that the best way is to ensure the end buyer's funds are at title in escrow (with the clear to close) before you approve the release of your funds.

The seller responded that since the issue was repaired and he believes there is no ongoing problem, he did not think it needed to be disclosed.When I asked him to extend the inspection period so I could follow up with the repair company and conduct my own inspection, he declined.I disagree with this interpretation.
