Has anyone had any success with counteroffering the State on a received quote?

When you see those, make the offer through your agent....if your offer is accepted WITHOUT a counteroffer, I would actually be worried.....it means your offer was to high/and/or the seller is desperate.....if they counter offer, work with the agent and then get it figured out.....MAKE SURE YOU GET A HOME INSPECTION.......that will tell you what really needs to be done with the property and it will prevent you from having to keep flying out there.You'll be fine Kiki....the key is to take the first steps.

But the next day, I had a second counter offer accepted for a not as dated 1970s triplex that I wasn’t expecting so I’m now feeling a combination of fear and excitement that I’m sure a lot of you felt on a first deal. 

I have submitted a counter offer and hoping for a slightly lower price but in this same market it's hard to find anything. 

You didn't discuss a counter offer (from what I could read from this thread).The first thing I'd recommend is not taking no for an answer.

@Alex Weslingso, now the purchase price after the counter offer we put will be 272500 a d they will take care of the knob and tube!!

Price was too high for me, but we did not counteroffer.  

No counter offer or objection to 50% financing was made until 1 hour before closing. 

Once you've established these, you can then subjectively try to figure out a counter-offer to make to them.BTW - you do have something to put into this deal if you decide to pursue it.

I stood by my numbers and was more confident in the negotiation because I could ask real time questions and respond to counter offers in real time.
