He was able to fight the mugger off and then had him arrested - which is how the scheme was revealed.Only logical reason to accept cash is if you're trying to hide income from the IRS.Otherwise, require your tenants to send you money orders or deposit cash rent into your bank account.

I've had a contractor calle 30 minutes after cutting him a check telling me he was arrested by border patrol at the bank.I'm not I'm definitely not trying to scare you out there and deals.

The police eventually showed up and says my GC has to leave and if he tries to drill the locks out that he will get arrested because it’s “trespassing” and the squatter has “rights” to the property because he has been there for more than 90 days supposedly.

After much legal advice, I understand I can't force a tenant in CA to leave (no-fault evictions are illegal here) unless they are arrested on the property, stop paying rent, or if you have a family member move in.
