I would agree with the others that the Buy than Build book is a great read or listen (I have the audio book). I

The Long-Distance Real Estate Investing book is a great one to get the lay of the land on doing it from afar, but getting on-site experience will also be important in your journey.

Garry's book is on my list, I already read rich dad poor dad a few years ago although I might reread it once I have a empty list.I aim to invest in my first property within the next 2 years, and I keep my savings high while keeping a balance of fun and saving.

Matthew, there are lots of good way to learn about syndications (and CrowdFunding...which are syndications that can be marketed over the internet).This is the book I wish I'd read when I started...and I think it should be required reading for every beginner and pro.

His book is next on my list; just looking for ways to actively do something (and to your point, relevant to the market I’m looking at).

I never read the book you referenced but at least it appears the book is written by a tax professional which is a good start.  

I oddly enough started with Rich Dad, Poor Dad, and then went on to three more books from Bigger Pockets publishing who all mentioned that book. I

I'm not sure what that book is about but you have no financial backing to be investing in real estate.
