Even if you think it is worth another $xxx -- if no one rents units in that neighborhood for that additional price, it is going to take you much longer to fill your vacancy so it could mean another 3 months empty with no income.

If you have a job that somebody quoted 500 and you provide materials and you work at same time with him, CSLB would treat that as $500 labor for handyman + $500 labor from your work + $xxx material, so CSLB would treat that as more than $500 contract already, ridiculous, I know, but that's what they said.
