Most of the time it makes more sense to rehab the older unit than to start from scratch.Keep in mind it will cost you 2K or more to move or demo the older home, and then you have to spend another 4-5K to move another home in, put in skirting, decking, etc.

I can put that $4-5K to much better use rehabbing an existing home, which is otherwise pissed away into moving, skirting, decks, etc.

Overall, this place was more than we wanted to bite off.The second place had broken crack vials outside and, when the realtor bravely opened the front door to the lower unit to announce our arrival, the was a line of cocaine and a razor blade on the small table right inside the door.
