Not sure about the staff side of things, but one of my friends campus rentals was rented out to part of the sports team, once the team found out the season was cancelled, they called code enforcement and got out of their lease.However my campus rental has stayed full! 

I would rather spend my time looking for RE, spending time with friends and family, traveling, watching my favorite sports teams, watching good movies or tv shows.  

For example I just sold a house, made 240K in two years give or take after expenses, and can now roll that profit into index funds, turn key properties, etc.Yes, appreciation is a bit more risky, but I wouldn't call it gambling if you know the economic fundamentals. 

@Kiersten Vogt there is 0 chance I would gamble with what around here is a $35-40k issue.

You should not gamble with your families health.

This is only really feasible if its a reasonably sized (300+ acres) all sports lake.

A temperate climate enhances the season for outdoor sports, including world-class golf, hiking, biking, and fishing.

It’s a team sport and syndication works well for a busy professional.

Notably, it's across the street from their major sports facilities.

The game becomes a lot more complicated which is why it is not a high scoring sport, generally speaking.
