I know this is an old thread but for anyone who may encounter this problem do yourself a favor and buy Advion Cockroach Bait Gel and follow the instructions carefully.

We have encountered similar issues and they are far from insurmountable.You would have to add egress windows and supply either emergency ladders or a fire escape, pending on what local code requires.    

But in 20 years, we have never executed a contingency plan other than during a construction phase where we encountered unexpected work that was hidden.Hopefully I have answered the question and not digressed too much!

We've actually had a few guests tell us they booked with us just because we "warned" them in this section about the guest service fee.As for an owner, I haven't encountered any hidden fees for us. 

Yes, 10 years may be a bit of a stretch unless someone like Amazon decided to setup an HQ in the area (not holding my breath...I think they would encounter a talent shortage IMO).

In your respective geographical areas, what is the average small home mortgage interest rate that you encounter?

Other than the emotionally uncomfortable experience you told us that you encountered during their entire process, you don't seem to have nailed down real specific ssues that you can caution someone to beware of.

My main question is, what fees have you encountered as an investor/landlord?
