I can dream of making $75k a year OR get my money working for me and DO something about it.

BP was hitting its stride and all of a sudden a few years ago they coined this term BRRR which is cute.. and accurate and wrote a book about it.. you know building a dream team etc etc.. but as you said not a new concept in the least its just old news rehashed for those that started in the industry post 2010 ish.. 

I found the dream contractor that completed probably 6 reasonably big jobs in 2 months (paint 2400sf house, replace 2 ac units, replaster a cracked pool, tile a 2400sf house, replace two shower stalls, rip out and replace counter tops) probably saved me $10,000 or more over the other quotes I got.

XX Ave, XX city, XX state is my dream house and we would be thrilled to get a mortgage for the house.

Looks like a good deal for the one unit and I will likely buy, but has thinking if over the course of 20 years I could buy them all and gross close to 700k a year it would be a dream come true, or would it.. has anyone done this or heard of it happening?

Lots of people here on BP talk about and dream about the 1% rule of rents, but from most CA investors I talk to they seem lucky to get 1/2% or 1/3% rent in the bigger cities.I would guess like the bigger cities in Texas now, Bay area is the same in that it probably pays better to look at some of the smaller commuter type cities around Bay area.

I used to talk to friends, co-workers and other people about the dreams I was always having, becoming financial independent.

I literally turned every stone, but it turned out to be impossible - our cost to build is too high.The second most popular thing is new luxury homes, so I built what all of my buyers were asking me to find:- 4 bedroom, 2.5 bath split ranch- exposed, finished basement - 3 car garage- impressive main living area, open concept, white and grey, solid HW floors etc- basically everyone's dream homeLiterally every design decision we made, we asked the question: will 80% of the population like it?
