The way you stated that the previous landlord crossed out that part, conceivably meaning "within 0 days of expiration" could mean you have no right to show it for purchase or rent before lease expires. 

But he was using it as a reason to bring me on board which crossed a line.

I'm hoping (fingers crossed) that the unit will book up quick and I won't need to bother to see what the competition is doing but time will tell.

I think there is a psychological barrier with your HOA ownership of $1000 you may not want to cross at this time.

I have definitely crossed Boston, Quincy, Canton, and the North Shore off of my search area, at least for now.
