While I very respectfully disagree with @John Clark that Illinois itself is, as of today, anti-landlord -- it may trend that way (if some current state legislators have their way) and Chicago and Cook County currently are not particularly hospitable to landlords.

Back in the day there were areas of the bronx and westchester that legitimately had kitchens in the basements because it was cooler down there, for cooking in the summertime, before Air Conditioning was common place.

So, now you have many more “cooks in the kitchen” for you to get your loan.

Without it, it is like you are trying to cook dinner without food.
