Vacant property insurance in and of itself is not enough to cover during remodeling. 

I just went under contract on a 35 unit apartment complex built in 1980 and I have to do some remodeling...

Add another 6-10k to that remodel.

They can hit a monthly rate on a hotel if they need. hahaMy case is probably a little different that the house needs pretty much a complete remodel.

Savvy listing agents know these are toilet paper.Honestly there just isn't a great solution for folks starting out with deals that Fannie won't touch... maybe that says something about just how risky it is to start with 202-level deals instead of 101-level.

I pay my plumber $100 to replace a toilet.

(Both toilet supply line failures if that’s worth anything.)I went with their remediation company (Service-pro) and their contractors for a few reasons. 1)They started everything the day of the leak/flooding. 2) They guaranteed everything, out of pocket costs, timeline, quality of work, a year to find any defects, etc etc  3) it was quick, painless, worry free.

The property is a complete gut/remodel.  

Makes me want to buy a home built in 1928 and remodel it myself!
