I think this is the musing of some misguided soul from a city that's gone full blown crazy lately.

I understand that there is a risk when investing in state as well but the ability to drive by the rental is like chicken soup for the soul.

I have a couple thousand saved for an emergency but it's just collecting dust so I'm almost willing to use it for an investment if necessary but not using it is definitely preferable I can feel in my soul that there's a way to get it done I'm just having a hard time seeing it.

Whether i stay with this job or decide to move, it's against everything in my soul to sign another lease when this one is up. however, if i invest in the property or one like it I'm not sure if I would be able to get an FHA loan for a house after my lease is up.

However, the three deals I’ll bleed my soul out to find have turned into some very sour grapes and didn’t close.  

When you've put people on the sidewalk, you had better be prepared to take responsibility for your own damned mistakes and not go crying to the papers about your awful soul-wrenching pandemic blues and how unfair and "disrespectful" life, the gubmint, and your tenants are.Moaning about tenants to a reporter while he's picking up garbage...seriously, Nathan, does Budhoo sound like he's built for this life to you?

Didn't know the city, didn't know the real estate market, didn't know a soul or a damn thing. 

I have been on a soul searching adventure during this pandemic which has lead me down a path of financial literacy and a more recent love for building real estate knowledge.

While I firmly believe in crypto and how various layer 1 protocols will transform how businesses operate, and that the 1-5 year price outlook is fantastic, that doesn't mean that in the short term its not soul crushing to see your portfolio balance fluctuate by hundreds of thousands of dollars on a near daily basis.
