Hi everyone, I recently purchased a rental property in a condo managed by an HOA, and I’m dealing with a challenging situation that I’d appreciate advice on.

Now AB1033 allows you to condo convert your ADU’s.

FYI--Most condos in Dallas do not allow AirBnB type residency. 

I decided to look into an official duplex or triplex putting 150K down that has value add with renovations and potential unit add but it wont have as much equity because it will be an on market deal. 

Buy a large house, or a duplex, triplex, fourplex.

if its a true condo you only buying the airspace.. so any defects in constructin the HOA has to pay to fix.. so the ceiling work should be on them. 

My first property was a duplex, and then a year or so later she bought her house, and we moved in together living in MIL suite basement and rented out the rest of the house.

A small house or duplex for my grandson, a set it and forget it type of investment.
