When my mom had her house done in March, the company removed all the exterior siding that was originally on the house to the sheathing panels.

So I designed my own home idea using MS Paint, priced the material and estimated labor and find this is a good I dea if I can manage building a plumb and level wall.Recently the idea was to spend most of my money on land in Colorado and place a RV/trailer along with a few solar panels to charge the batteries, but this wouldn't really do anything unless I was willing to place a well and septic system.You can say I'm in a situation here, and I have no idea of how to handle it.

This week we have removed all trim, paneling, carpet, pad, old wood flooring, and are working on removing the blue tile from two bathrooms.

That's not real expensive and I've done some of them myself.I've seen older places that the service panel was sufficient but it's probably not, probably from $900-$2K to fix that.Older houses don't have nearly enough outlets per foot of wall space, again it's not difficult but if the electrian is there he can do those too.

If you're looking to do the wood-like individual panels (rather than rolled laminate), I paid about $1.50/ft for installation, but that included prepping underneath and thick pad/underlayment/whatever - AND in the Bay Area, CA.

I have to restrain myself on my investments from busting our with coffered ceilings , fancy stairs, and elaborate paneling schemes.
