I haven't found any information about not being able to split the lot if the house is built before 1978 (which mine is) but I'll bring that up to the county when I meet with them in a couple weeks.Is there a reason why you chose to split the lot as opposed to adding an SB9 unit and then adding an ADU to it?

It is important to remember that if you buy a single family home that you will live in for a while, consider living in it for 2 years before you sell because the IRS will allow you to exclude up to $250,000 of capital gain on your property from being taxed ($500,000 for married couples).
