If I am right on the vintage, a wide variety of items may be near the end of their useful life, like windows, doors, cabinets, siding, any decks, etc.

For example, if you spend $2,000 on granite countertops for the kitchen, but the cabinets are garbage and the next person will need to rip everything out, you're not going to get any return for that $2,000.

I own other properties that I rent out and I think they just kind of assumed I'd keep it and rent it out.Original Plan:Purchase price $86kARV  $179kRepair estimates: $25kLoan/carrying costs $8,000n (hard money loan points and interest, utilities)Realtor Commissions: $10,750Potential Profit: $49,250I live on the other side of the state, so I planned on driving down here and staying in this house while I fixed it up, doing all of the cosmetic work (paint, refinishing floors, refacing cabinets, etc) and bathroom remodel myself and hiring out the heavy work (replacing siding on garage, new rollup door, electrical work, new heat).

Also had cabinets hanging down to the right that separated the living space and made everything feel closed off and dated.Took down the cabinets over the bar, cleaned up the rest of the cabinets and added new counter tops and stainless appliances.

At this point if you are remodeling the kitchen this is when you install cabinets or bathroom vanities etc.

If not, i would probably close it back up, not really a focal point in the center of a wall or in a kitchen along a cabinet line, its tucked in a corner, think you are watching rehab addict to much, she loves to uncover and keep brick  chimneys on her show.

My contractor and I went to the local Habitat for Humanity Restore and found a set of cabinets that will work for the house for $775 and they need to be repainted for $200 which drops my cabinet costs by $1200 from my estimates.
