The response is almost always the same; the regulatory body points out that our industry's loss ratios are just not large enough or substantial enough to warrant any kind of regulation (read the cost/benefit analysis just does not warrant the cost of regulation of our industry).

I constantly crunch the numbers almost monthly to see how much money I am making when including the amazing increase in the property's value each time I raise the rent and I do my math over and over so that I am excited and I can do the math in my head.So, when the tenant spit in my face my mathematical mind went into overdrive and this irate tenants idiotic move that resulted in an eviction just earned me a big fat paycheck.

Probably Iowa area as a preference, as they don't block muni networks, so really small cities there can build out fat pipes to the internet to attract telecommuters that need lots of bandwidth, but want small town population density, and short drive to 3 larger cities if you want to still have the occasional city experiences.

My concern is that real estate makes a big fat target for increased taxes in the future.A raise in capital gains taxes will hurt the 'appreciation' folks.
