Its actually quite sad.

I just spoke with the owner over the weekend and she sad they are still current on the mortgage and are working with the bank to try and “give it back”.

Not a problem but one issue is they are in 3 different states .All are FREE and CLEAR except for Taxes ,Insurences, and monthly expenditures .consulted with 3 different attorneys , 2 CPA's and 1 Probate judge .Sadly got 6 different opinions on WHAT I should do .NOT sure WHAT I should do at this point So far the kids both have very successfull business they own their buildings but have really NO interest in real Estate Investing .as stated I could liquidate All or have some type of Trust in place for ongoing income for generations to come .

I'm sad to report, but not at all surprised, that @Jon Klaus is right...again!

@Thomas Good Yes it is very sad with the way the state has been going over the years in many ways.

{QBW, QBW.nd, QBW.TLG}Yeah that's obtuse and confusing at first, but using the OPEN dialogue you can pick the correct set matching the business desired.the sad part is QB does not (at least on the Pro 2009 version) put the business name in the window title to help keep it all straight as you move from one to another.Over time (multiple years) I added a subdir for the years (C:\Accounts\yyyy} and moved the files there.

Long story, but I was given  a "too bad, so sad" answer and that I would have to wait it out.

The sad reality is that most people have no idea what to do to restore credit or what is necessary in their situation for them to qualify for a mortgage.

your smart to steer clear.. its a sad commentary on the city of Detroit.There was an Aussie investor who flew out to work on his home and got in a scuffle with one of his tenants boyfriends and the guy shot him in the chest and killed him right there in the front yard..
