I guess at the prices of multi-fams here in LA ($800k and up, usually and sadly, far from where I work even at those prices) I figured I couldn't qualify.

But sadly-- we're often just pushing issues that we think we are solving somewhere else.

^^OK, fair enough; I guess in this day and age, sadly "anonymity" and "illegal" are becoming more synonymous. 

Now a lot of people that have sadly lost their jobs have become renters which as a landlord actually drives up rent rates because of price and demand.

I'll have to catch the on-demand version though, sadly :(

Sadly most of them are illegal because you need to legally retrofit it for fire safety which would increase the tax rate for multiple dwelling.

Believe it or not, there is a segment of the population that has a dirty car but a clean home (including my wife).It's sad to see racist people in the world but I believe they are few.

What is "sad" about that?

I'm another victim coming out of the wood work that was tangled in this ongoing sad mess of epic proportions.

@Matthew M.You certainly HAVE pointed out an important thing here -- for good landlords working in low-income/high-cashflow properties, people that have been trapped in the system through previous criminal activities that they have been punished severely for and have reformed, well, very often and sadly make the very best low-income tenants.
