Hi @Craig Bowen I personally think that how in-depth you wish to get with your business plan would be up to you.

A CPA will likely know higher level tax planning and more in-depth strategies (not that a bookkeeper doesn't know this also!). 

@Steven Correale The inimitable @Brandon Turner wrote a book that covers this in depth.

If you are dealing with an addition built on 12" beams (or if the original foundation is old and not built to current standards), the repair company might not be able to push the piers down to refusal depth or psi due to the beam not taking the load, thus leveling it, but not guaranteeing it will not continue to move in the future, thus not providing warranty.9.

If you have a very in depth or complicated question, then you may have to get an Architect involved.

It should be the full depth of the joist sitting on the beam, or joist hangers should have been used.
