the right has done a tremendous marketing job and their anti-left campaign was tremendously successful during the mid-term elections.But, if you think that *all* Americans are that stupid, I'm sorry to disappoint...The TSA is the issue of the day that the right is touting to harm the image of the left.

honestly if you google the word backsplash and click images you will see hundreds or even thousands of examples, and as you mentioned in your original post this is for your mother, so a lot of the decision on this is personal preference and show her the different options and let her decide, any way you go can work fine

This is the first problem we have had with them.We had the images rubbed out of the concrete by our contractor.

Unless they happen to be visiting family up there or have some specific reason to be up there.Perhaps if you had some ranch style place that you could rent out for special events (Weddings, parties, etc) but just a regular home?
