NC doesn't have the housing shortages that California or other states have so building an ADU may not produce the returns as they could elsewhere though. 

Rental properties typically go quick in San Antonio since there is a shortage so there’s no need to pay realtors to advertise in most cases.

AS in most of the large metro areas.. it does not matter what the house looks like there is a price it will sell for on MLS within a week for all cash.. we have an extreme shortage of housing stock generally speaking.. so its just not like what you folks are blessed with out your way in as it relates to the TAX deed investing.

The fact of the matter is the majority of working Americans are living paycheck-to-paycheck at the moment and it will get really ugly if a wrench gets thrown at those that are most vulnerable.The current trend now is an affordable housing shortage in the most popular metro areas across the country, and there doesn't seem to be any resolution in sight as new residential construction in this country is stagnant.

I am a very conservative investor so I’m my option numbers are starting to get tight for people to actually be able to afford rent, but on the other side there is such a shortage of rentals.
