Kelly McMahon To Sell or to Rent, That is the Question

The house came with some very nice features like a beautiful security gate and front door and an extended patio, irrigation system, landscaped low-maitenence yard.My real estate agent ran the comps and says we probably cant get more than $135K for the house....we owe $158K left on the mortgage.I dont expect to make a profit on this place, but I definitely dont want to sell it and owe the bank over $20K....$5K maybe, but we still have to buy a second home.My question comes down to this: How much worth do I give those comps?

What the mortgage broker sounds like they are saying is to "season" your funds.Seasoning refers to money placed in an account etc. for an extended period of time and gets age to it.2 months is a threshold many look at.

@LeeI can understand where your coming from when those around you put you down and I've witnessed the same attitude towards family, friends until I learned to STOP telling my goals to people to a certain extend.

I am shopping for an insurance policy for our new rental, and one of the insurance agents on BP suggested asking my insurance agent about option #2, stating it's considerably cheaper (each 300K liability costs 100-200$, vs 15-20$ for extending primary residence liability to rentals).Thanks!!!
